Great American Clean Up
In 2002, our President Tim Larson Dingus started a clean up campaign in Loves Park the Saturday after Earth Day in April. With 17 volunteers and no tools, we collected over 50 bags of garbage. Five years later, the County of Winnebago patterned a county wide effort like our format...three hours in the morning and everyone treated to lunch!
Today, over 1,300 volunteers! We had never missed a year regardless of the freezing rain, wind and cold temperatures. Our volunteer mix is from Loves Park Rotary, Harlem High School students for Action and Honor Society, Cub Scouts, St. Bridget School, Keep Northern Illionis Beautiful and Miracle Mile Rockford.
